The Thames & Hudson Manual of Architectural Ceramics
Published in Unknown Binding by Thames and Hudson ()
Author: David Hamilton
Average review score:

The Thames and Hudson Manual of Architectural Ceramics
Excellent book for Architectural Ceramics includes historical examples, types of clays, mold making, faience and terracotta, tile making, glazes, installation and safety. The scale also includes industrial applications as well as techniques for the individual studio artist.I found it very useful for designing one's own tools for specific uses. There is also good instruction for designing tiles using Tessellations. The chapter on glazes gives the procedure for testing applications on wet to dry to bisqued wares. It is for technically advanced worker in ceramics.

Superb - This book should be a bestseller
Set aside at least 3 hours to read as you will not be able to stop reading this book until you get to the back cover. This is a gripping, true story about what no mother should have to go through to be with her children.

You will feel anger, sadness, pain, and other emotions all at the same time.

I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

A Tour Guide to the Civil War
Published in Paperback by Rutledge Hill Press (October, 1992)
Author: Alice Hamilton Cromie
Average review score:

Excellent guide for all civil war enthusiasts.
This book is an easy to follow guide to many civil war sites. Some of the places are the well known sites and some are not so well known. But, you will enjoy tracking these sites state by state. I've used the book sysytematically and when I've visited a site, I highlight in the book the place I've been on the state maps provided. Buy it! Try it! Take lots of pictures, too! Start a scrapbook of civil war sites you've visited. It makes for a great conversation piece.

The Twelve Steps and Dual Disorders: A Framework of Recovery for Those of Us With Addiction and an Emotional or Psychiatric Illness
Published in Paperback by Hazelden Information Education (April, 1994)
Authors: Tim Hamilton and Pat Samples
Average review score:

What a gentle way to recover!
I love this book! Can't say enough good things about it. I would highly recommend it to anyone recovering from dual disorders or any professional working with clients with dual disorders. The book offers real hope for recovery from both illness, is writen in a very gentle tone and is wonderfully supportive. I especially like the way the authors deal with the definition of 'sanity' and the Higher Power aspect of the 12 Step Process. Sanity is defined as 'sound judgement'-how simple is that! What a relief from guilt for the person with mental illness. They discribe HP as a circle of helping resources-psychiatrist, case worker, family, friends, sponsor, others in recovery in addition to a spiritual relationship.

I use it in a recovery group in an institutional setting and my clients love the material. Its an open-minded view of recovery without all the 'God Stuff' found in the original 12 Steps.
